A very enjoyable day spent at Wareham Golf Club.
With the weather set fair and some very fast conditions with baked fairways, the six Ashley Wood pairings put up a very good fight before narrowly missing out on the wrong end of a 3.5 - 2.5 score line.
The stars of the show for Ashley Wood were Steve Cheshire & Martin Jelbart who won 6&5 and there was a solid 2&1 win for Richard Lockett and Mike McCafferty.
Congratulations also go to Trevor Mills and Andy Fulton who won the longest drive and nearest the pin prizes respectively.
Great camaraderie was displayed by all 24 golfers on parade followed up by a superb 2 course meal eaten al fresco overlooking the 18th green.
We can’t wait to welcome Wareham GC back to Ashley Wood in July for the rematch.
