The Golf Course
The fairways at Ashley Wood Golf Club are undulating and apart from the fairly steep third hole, all the others are easy walking so it suits golfers of all ages and abilities especially those looking for a relatively easy to walk golf course. The views of the surrounding countryside north to Salisbury Plain and south to the Purbecks are magnificent and these are complemented with 4 holes played within Ashley Wood itself, ancient woodlands that are carpeted with bluebells in the spring and abundant with birdlife including buzzards.

The chalk downland means that the course drains very quickly and remains playable in all but the most extreme weather so ideal for that winter golf break near the coast. The course is par 70 and at 6308 yards, is not the longest golf course in Dorset but the last five holes provide a strong challenge for all levels of ability, especially if the wind blows. Regardless of your handicap, if you're looking for a challenging game of golf in Dorset you won't be disappointed.

The Clubhouse and Facilities
There are good club house facilities with great food and sensible prices and we're proud of the warm and friendly welcome we offer to everyone that wants to visit. Ashley Wood Golf Club has in recent years undergone developments that now allow us to cater for wedding parties, birthday parties and other group occasions that need to be hosted within a short distance of the Blandford Forum - golf not obligatory !
Pro Shop
A small pro shop the caters well for its members well and offers, trolleys and buggies and clubs are available to hire by visitors if needed. Whilst we have recently relaxed our dress policy, we do ask all visitors to check our dress policy before arrival and this also applies to golf societies looking to play golf at this fine Dorset Golf Club.
Ashley Wood Golf Club is ideally situated if you are looking to play golf near Bournemouth or Poole and is only a short distance away from other great golf courses in the south of Dorset.
