The Senior Men’s Section is for golfers over 60 years of age. The section has around 150 members.
Competitions are held every 2 to 3 weeks. These comprise Medals and Trophy competitions, Texas Scrambles and many other competitions throughout the year, plus a full programme of friendly matches. Knock out competitions are also held for singles and pairs through the Spring and Summer months.
We also have Mixed competitions when we are joined by the Ladies Section.
The Section has a Seniors Committee which looks after the running of this very busy section which is chaired by the Seniors Captain.
In July we hold our Seniors Open competition which is well supported by clubs from Dorset and neighbouring counties.
The section also arranges entries into open competitions at other clubs in the area.
There are various social activities and these end in December when we have our Christmas Turkey Trot, Section AGM and lunch. Finally we have a Dinner for members and their partners just before Christmas.
Seniors Open
This is held every July and is open to all senior players over 60 years of age. Invitations are sent out early in the year to neighbouring clubs. Members of the Seniors Committee and Section Members act as officials for the competition.
